Do not believe what you see on the screens of the patience of the families of the martyrs.. If you want to know the truth, just listen at the middle of the night .. you will hear moaning of a mother who lost her son or daughter coming out of the silence .. you will hear her heart shattering into pieces .. she is awake, unlike all of us, sitting on his / her bed, clinging to his / her clothes, breathing the perfume on those clothes which will disappear soon .. just like her son / daughter ...
They say time heals .. but how can a mother fill this hole that has been bunched in her chest ... only yesterday her son was sleeping on his bed, and today he is buried underground !!! This is not how nature works, he is still so young .. an entire life is a head of him !! Who could possibly fill the gap he left ?!
She will never hear his voice again ... she will never see his smiles ... she will never get her forehead kissed by him again ... she will never attend his graduation and will never see him throwing his graduation hat in the air with his friends ... she will never see him falling in love nor getting married ... she will never see him having a family of his own .. his chair on the dinner table will be empty forever .. his bed .. his favorite couch ..!!
What can you say to a mother who will never see her daughter in the white dress .. how can you make up to a father who will never smile in tears while handing over his daughter to her groom in her wedding day ..!! Her laughs, her kindness, the tasty coffee she used to make.. her tender heart .. will all disappear now ..!!
What about those children whose biggest worries was finishing high school to go to collage ?! Now, all what their mothers can do is talking about what they wanted to study .. what they dreamed to be ..!! Their friends will stop playing football in the neighborhood now, because the team is not complete .. the spirit of the team is not complete .. !!
Now the mother of the martyr has to bury all the hopes and dreams with her son / her daughter.. Why? Because his / her life has been ended by bullets full of hatred and grudge ... Bullets which decided that those normal dreams are dangerous and must not come true...
Nobody can feel what the families of the martyrs feel, especially when they receive the news.. that overwhelming feeling can not be put in words ..my cosine was killed last year by a settler while he was participating in a PEACEFUL march that supports Gaza, he was only 20 years old .. At the first moments of hearing the news, you feel like you were detached from reality and thrown out of time .. it takes a while before you absorb the bitter truth ..
Our martyrs are not just numbers, not just pictures to hang on the walls.. in the streets and on cars .. They are stories must be told to the whole world... We betray their memories when we remember them just as names .. We kill them again if we ignored the story each martyr has.. We must not just tell the world how they were killed, but also how they lived...
